A frustrated passenger has gone viral after he tried to flout easyJet’s hand luggage rules.
After an airline worker insisted that he prove his carry-on was within regulation size by placing it in the baggage size checker, it turned out to be tighter than he initially expected, Sun reports.
But he was still intent on making the bag fit, so much so that he kicked and shoved the luggage to squeeze it into the size checker.
The incident was caught on video and shared on TikTok, where it has been viewed more than 24 million times.
Other passengers could be heard laughing in the background as the exasperated man continued to stomp and shove his suitcase, only for the UK budget airline employee to keep pointing out the areas where his suitcase was sticking out of the size checker.
The man eventually managed to convince the staff member that his bag was the correct size, only for it to later get stuck inside the bag checker.
The man then became even more frustrated when he realized he needed to get his suitcase out again.
The video struck a chord with many people online.
One wrote: “You’re going to miss your flight trying to get that out.”
Others suspected that the staff member was simply having a laugh at the passenger’s expense.
One said: “That guy was cool with the bag from the start. I just wanted to see him trying to get it off afterward.”
The man isn’t the only passenger to go viral for forcing an item into the baggage size checker recently.
Last month, a skateboarder snapped his skateboard in half to avoid paying A$127 for excess hand luggage.
Shaun Hover was checking in for his flight, when he was told he would have to pay the fee for his board, as it technically didn’t fit the carry-on measurements.
Instead, Shaun stomped on his skateboard and snapped it in half, meaning he could get it on board the flight for free.
