Coles and IGA Supermarkets Recall Popular Crudo Ready Meals Due to Fears of Listeria Contamination

Coles and IGA supermarkets have recalled a variety of prepared foods over fears they may have been contaminated with listeria.

Six popular food varieties from Raw Nation Wholefoods, listed below, have been pulled from shelves immediately.

The products have been available for sale at Coles supermarkets and independent food retailers, including IGA in South Australia.

The following Raw Nation Wholefoods foods have been recalled:

  • Raw Cheekie Pumpkin 275g
  • Raw Chicken Caesar 200g
  • Vietnamese Raw Bowl 275g
  • Jamaican Raw Jerk 250g
  • Raw Oriental Chicken 275g
  • Classic Pasta Sandwich with Chicken 275g

The recalled products have preferred consumer markings from August 31, 2022, September 1, 2022, September 2, 2022, and September 3, 2022.

Food safety hazard

Food Standards Australia advises that the products can cause illness if consumed.

“The recall is due to possible microbial contamination (Listeria monocytogenes),” he says.

“Listeria can cause illness in pregnant women and their unborn babies, the elderly, and people with compromised immune systems.

“Consumers should not eat this product and should return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund.

“Any consumer concerned about their health should seek medical advice.”
