Homeless billionaire Elon Musk was photographed outside one of his close friend Larry Ellison’s Malibu mansions on Thursday.
The world’s richest man was photographed hugging his son, X Æ A-12, while wearing a black Tesla t-shirt that said ‘Autopilot’, black pants and black sneakers.
It’s unclear if Musk stayed at Ellison’s house.
The images come on the same day it was revealed that the twin girls Musk shares with his employee, Shivon Zilis, were conceived via in vitro fertilization (IVF), according to five people familiar with the situation.
The 36-year-old has since told some of her colleagues that she was not romantically involved with Musk, 51. Zilis gave birth to the twins in November 2021.

In March 2022, Grimes said in an interview that Musk viewed X Æ A-12 as his ‘protégé’.

Musk told TED’s Chris Anderson in April: “I don’t even have a place right now, I’m literally staying at friends’ houses.” If I travel to the Bay Area, which is where most of Tesla’s engineering is, basically broken between spare rooms of friends.

In the same interview, Musk said he doesn’t even take vacations. He said: ‘Sure, it would be very problematic if he was spending billions of dollars a year on personal consumption, but that’s not the case.

Musk, X Æ A-12, and an unidentified man outside Ellison’s home. Musk and Ellison’s friendship dates back years, when the Oracle founder was named to Tesla’s board of directors in 2018.
The billionaire is known to be close to Ellison. In December 2018, Ellison, the founder of Oracle, was appointed to Tesla’s board of directors.
Ellison’s inclusion put one of the world’s richest people with experience in turning a startup into a successful company on Tesla’s board.
Charles Elson, director of the center for corporate governance at the University of Delaware, questioned the addition of a friend of Musk and another director with no experience in an industrial company like Tesla.
“Why would I put a friend (on the board) if the idea of the two independent directors was objective?” Elson said. “Investors hoping for two new CEOs who could stand up to Mr. Musk would be quite disappointed with the choice.”
Ellison served as a director at Apple at a critical time for that company: in the five years after Steve Jobs returned to the helm of the struggling computer maker in 1997, helping to oversee one of the biggest turnarounds in corporate history.

Ellison once defended Musk in an interview saying, ‘You’re telling me he’s an idiot. I just want to know who you are. Why should I believe you, unlike my friend Elon? We’re here watching this rocket land, which I think is really cool, and you’re in front of your Apple Macintosh and you’re writing an article saying that Elon is an idiot.

In June 2021, Musk tweeted that his home was a 375-square-foot 1-bedroom rental in Boca Chica, Texas, near the SpaceX headquarters known as Starbase.

Combined, Musk and Ellison have a net worth of more than $350 billion.
Two months earlier, Ellison said in an interview: “I think Tesla has a lot of advantages. I’m not sure how many people know this, but I’m close friends with Elon Musk and I’m a big investor in Tesla.
Their friendship was solidified in December 2020 when Musk tweeted that he went to the Hawaiian island that Ellison owns to “seek advice.”
He went on to criticize those who write stories critical of Musk saying, “I loved all the articles about how Elon doesn’t know what he’s doing, the pictures of him smoking pot.”
Ellison continued: ‘You’re telling me he’s an idiot. I just want to know who you are. Why should I believe you, unlike my friend Elon? We’re here watching this rocket land, which I think is really cool, and you’re sitting there in front of your Apple Macintosh and writing an article saying that Elon is an idiot.

Meanwhile, Musk has spoken numerous times about his apparent homelessness.
He told TED’s Chris Anderson in April: “I don’t even have a place right now, I’m literally staying at friends’ houses.” If I travel to the Bay Area, which is where most of Tesla’s engineering is, basically broken between spare rooms of friends.
In the same interview, Musk said he doesn’t even take vacations. He said: ‘It would certainly be very problematic if he was spending billions of dollars a year on personal consumption, but that is not the case.’
Musk continued: ‘It’s not that my personal consumption is high. I mean, the only exception is the plane, but if I don’t use the plane, then I have fewer hours to work.
While in June 2021, Musk tweeted that his home was a 375-square-foot 1-bedroom rental in Boca Chica, Texas, near the SpaceX headquarters known as Starbase.
He wrote: ‘My main house is literally a ~$50k house in Boca Chica/Starbase that I rent from SpaceX. However, it is a bit unbelievable. The only house I have is the event house in the Bay Area. If I sell it, the house would get less use, unless it’s bought by a large family, which could happen one day.
At the time of this writing, Musk is still in the middle of a legal battle with Twitter after he backed out of his $44 billion acquisition of the social media giant at the last minute.
The frugality of the South African household is nothing new.
Google co-founder Larry Page was quoted in Ashley Vance’s book ‘Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future’ as saying of Musk: ‘He’s kind of a drifter, which I think is something funny’.
Page continued: ‘He’ll email and say, ‘I don’t know where to stay tonight. I can go?’ I still haven’t given him a key or anything.
Following a 2018 interview with CBS News, in which Musk said he regularly slept on the floor of his Tesla office, a GoFundMe page titled “Buy an Elon Musk Couch” appeared.
According to Mashable, the page’s blurb read: ‘Elon Musk is transforming our world to run on sustainable energy and use sustainable forms of transportation. Lately, he has been sleeping in the Fremont factory in an effort to improve Model 3 production.’
He continues: ‘This is the sofa you are sleeping on. As a community, we cannot let this stand. Let’s get together to buy Elon a new couch to sleep on!’
In 2020, he said in an interview with the New York Times that he was staying with a variety of friends after selling his $29 million mega-mansion in Los Angeles.
Musk said: “Actually, in hindsight, it was a good thing because you end up rotating through friends’ houses and catching up with them and keeping in touch, whereas these days I’ve been staying in this weird Gatsby-type house.” what I call the haunted mansion, and it’s a bit gloomy, to be totally frank.
He added, “The house itself is beautiful but, you know, it’s like Wayne Manor without Alfred.”
A December 2019 Wall Street Journal article detailed the nine homes Musk owns or owned in the Bel-Air section of Los Angeles.
