Virgin to open fast-track security lanes at Melbourne and Brisbane airports

Virgin Australia is opening premium and fast-track security gates in melbourne Y Brisbane airports as airlines continue to struggle for passengers post-Covid.

Fast track lanes will be reserved for Velocity Frequent Flyer members and Business Class passengers.

The new lanes will open between 5 am and 10 am.

The news comes after Qantas frequent flyers received a $50 discount as part of an apology from CEO Alan Joyce after months of delayed flights, cancellations and mishandled baggage.

“In the past few months, many of you have had delayed flights, canceled flights and lost bags,” Joyce said.

“There are good reasons for that, but when it comes to what you expect from Qantas, it’s not good enough.

“On behalf of the national airline, I want to apologize and assure you that we are working hard to get back to our best.”
