An American expat who moved to Australia was left confused after browsing the snack aisle at Coles.

Katy, who goes by the TikTok username @ameristralia, caught the attention of thousands online after admitting she had “no idea” what certain flavors of potato chips taste like.

In a now-viral video, he pointed to Kettle chips ‘Kakadu Plum’ and ‘Lemon Myrtle’, prompting a flood of comments from Australians.

“When you try to buy chips in Australia and you have no idea what any of the flavors mean,” Katy wrote in the video.

In the comments, she claims to have quickly looked up flavor descriptions as she walked down the supermarket aisle, as the snack options were “completely new” to her.

Many were quick to clarify that the flavors are indigenous to Australia and taste ‘amazing’.

But Katy replied, ‘It’s interesting, I’m sure you’ll be intrigued by other flavors that [haven’t] seen before.’
